JACK FRUIT SHAHI KURMA

INGREDIENTS

raw jack fruit ( seeds removed)   500 gm
onion  3
ginger 2 1/2 cm
green chillies    6
cinnamon  21/2 cm piece
cardamom  2
poppy seeds  1 1/2 tbsp
cashew nuts chopped 1 1/2 tbsp
coriander seeds   1 tsp
cumin seeds   1 tsp
raisins    5
coconut grated  1 cup
garlic cloves 4-5
salt to taste
oil for frying
coriander leaves   2 tbsp chopped


METHOD


skin, wash & cut jack fruit into cubes.
slice onion.
grind poppy seeds, cumin, coriander seeds, ginger, garlic, chillies into a smooth paste.
extract coconut milk from coconut.
heat oil fry onion along with cloves, cardamom, cinnamon & masala.
add jack fruit fry lightly, add water cook till jack fruit is tender.
add beaten curd, coconut milk, raisins, cashew nuts.
simmer for a few minutes.
garnish with coriander leaves.
serve hot with fried rice or pulao.
