GREEN CHILI-CHEESE BREAD-ROLL



INGREDIENTS
for dough
all purpose flour/ maida 1 cup
yeast  3/4 tsp
milk pdr.  2 1/2 tsp
water  100 ml
butter  1 tsp
sugar  1/2 tsp
salt   1/2 tsp

FOR STUFFING
cheese spread as needed
green chilies carefully slit and de-seed
milk for brushing
butter for brushing

METHOD
for dough
in little warm water, mix yeast with sugar and keep aside to prove for 10-15 minutes
add butter, salt with flour and milk powder, mix well, add the proven yeast mixture, mix well, add  water little by little to make a soft dough.
cover the dough and keep aside to prove.
punch it well to remove the air, knead well again
roll the dough like for roti or tortilla, cut into about 1 1/2" strips
roll the strip around the chili to cover it. keep it on the lightly greased oven tray for about 20 minutes to prove, then brush with milk and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 deg. C for 10-12 minutes till light brown. Once done, remove from oven, brush with butter when still warm.

Bread vermicelli rolls

Ingredients

3 bread slices (shredded) 

2 tbsp - vermicelli crumbs (vermicelli crushed) 

2 tsp - chilli powder

1/2 tsp - garam masala powder

1 tsp -cumin powder

1 egg (beaten well with little salt) OR use egg substitute OR cornflour 1 tbsp mixed with little water + some more cornflour to roll

salt  to taste

1 tsp - lemon juice

2 tsp - warm water

2 tbsp - refined oil

2 tbsp each  of finely chopped onion, carrot, cabbage

Method 

Mix shredded bread slices (trim the edges first) with some salt, chilli powder, jeera powder, garam masala powder, 2 tsp - warm water and lemon juice well, adding onion, cabbage and carrot 

Roll them into desired shape. 

 Dip this into a beaten egg mixture or egg substitute or cornflour mixture 

 Then roll them over vermicelli crumbs and in cornflour

 Keep aside. 

 Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan and shallow-fry the bread-vermicelli rolls on both sides till golden brown. 

 Serve this hot with tomato-ketchup.

Gooey Apple Bread

Ingredients 
12 fresh soft dinner rolls
 apples, chopped 
1/3 cup brown sugar 
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted and divided 
 For the Glaze 
1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp milk
1/2 cup powdered sugar
METHOD 
In a medium mixing bowl, mix apples, cinnamon, sugar, and 2 Tbsp butter. 
cut each roll into 4 pieces and roll them into balls with your hands.
cover  the bottom of the pan with enough rolls.
Drizzle half of the remaining melted butter over the rolls. 
Cover with half of the apple mixture,& repeat layers until the ingredients are used up. 
Let rise until the rolls have doubled in size.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until brown on top. 
For the glaze: 
Mix together butter, brown sugar, milk, and powdered sugar.
You may need to add more powdered sugar or milk to get desired consistency. 
Pour all over the top of the bread.
 ps- If it starts to get brown on top, cover loosely with aluminium foil and continue baking to allow center to get done.
