Italian flavored sweet potato soup

After you taste this rich and delicious sweet potato soup, you'll be waiting for cold days just to make it again! The excellent aroma, special flavors, and velvety texture of the soup will leave you with a taste for more and will be the first thing that'll come to mind when you talk about the winter.

Ingredients: 
 
2 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into medium-sized cubes 
 
1 turnip, peeled and cut into medium-sized cubes 
 
1/4 tsp. salt 
 
1/4 tsp. whole black peppercorns 
 
2 tbsp. olive oil 
 
3 pieces of ginger, peeled and about 2 cm wide 
 
1 clove of garlic, thinly sliced 
 
1 tbsp. rosemary, dried 
 
1 tsp. basil, dried 
 
 2 tsp. hazelnut, peeled and roughly ground 
 
1 large green apple, cored and cubed 
 
3 tbsp. lemon juice, divided (1 tsp, and 2 tsp.) 
 
 3 tsp. almond milk 
 
 5 cups water 
 
1 tsp. cilantro, chopped for garnish  
 
Directions: 
 
1. Heat your oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper. 
 
2. Layer the ginger pieces, and potato and turnip cubes, evenly on the pan, sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1/4 teaspoon whole black pepper, garlic, rosemary, and basil and mix well. 
 
3. Place the pan in the hot oven and roast the vegetables for about 30 minutes, or until the potato is soft and can be mashed with your fingers. 
 
4. Once you've removed the vegetables from the oven and cooled them down a little, [lace them in a food processor with the hazelnuts, apple, almond milk, and lemon juice and operate in short pulses while adding water gradually, about half a cup. 
 
5. Once you've finished adding the liquid, transfer the contents to a pot and heat the soup. 
 
6. Adjust seasoning if necessary, pour into bowls and sprinkle with cilantro for garnish.

Easy cooking and Storing tips


Microwave tip
1) Easy raspberry jam--- raspberry 1 cup, add sugar 1 cup mix well, micro for 10 min. jam is ready

2)How to soften old,hard bread, wrap in kitchen towel, sprinkle some water, micro for 1 minute, bread is fresh n soft.

3) broccoli- 1 cup, add 1/2 cup water, 1 tbsp soya sauce, micro for 3 minutes. easy steamed vege.

4) condensed milk, pour the can in a small bowl, in a bigger micro safe bowl add about 1/2 cup water, put the condensed milk on it, micro for 8 minutes, it becomes caramelised sauce.

5) to peel tomato easily, wash, dry, on the back side cut a cross, micro for 30 seconds you can easily peel the skin, ready for soup or puree

6) to easily peel garlic, cut the top, micro for 20 seconds, you can easily peel them

7) to dry basil, wash, wipe, chop them by keeping leaves one on top of another, roll it, then chop finely, micro for 1 minute, it will be dry, then it can be stored. You can dry curry leaves and herbs too in the same way, if the quantity is more, after a minute, you need to stir it well and microwave for 1-2 minutes more, depending on how wet your herbs are.

8) to get chapati or tortilla in cup shape, put it in a tall glass, micro for 1 minute, you'll get into cup shape, when you can fill rajma/ kidney beans, salad, cheese and serve 

9) Mug chocolate cake
in a micro safe cup add 4 tbsp each of all purpose flour,  brown sugar, cocoa pdr., pinch of salt, mix well, add 4 tbsp cooking oil, mix well, 4 tbsp water, mix, v. essence 1/2 tsp, chocolate chips 1 tbsp, mix well, micro for 1 minute


How to save cookies that are burnt little - suppose your cookie is black/ dark brown in the bottom, grate it, you can save rest of the cookie ( i.e., only the backside)


to remove eggshell after you break the egg, just wet your fingertip and when you dip in the egg, the shell will stick to your finger

To soften the butter  --In case the butter is too hard to cut, pout hot water in a glass, empty it, and invert the glass over the butter for 1 minute, voila, your butter will be easy to cut.

To prevent cookies from drying and becoming hard, place a slice of bread in the container, after 2 days, you'll find the cookies are soft again.

to  prevent honey sticking to your measuring cup, spray with cooking oil/ butter, then measure your honey, you'll notice that it doesn't stick.

to prevent clumping of sugar, put 3-5 marshmallows in the container.
