Ingredients
whole wheat flour/ atta 1 1/2 cups
all-purpose flour/ maida 1 cup
baking soda 1 tsp
salt 1 tsp
light butter 2 tbsp cut into small pieces
egg 1
low-fat buttermilk 1 cup

Method
Preheat the oven to 425 deg F/ 220 deg. C.
Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt; mix well.
Add the butter then the egg and buttermilk.
Using your hands, mix until just combined.
Right on the baking sheet, shape the dough into a round loaf about 1 inch high.
Make a crisscross cut (an "X") across the top with a floured knife.
Bake the bread for 10 minutes.
Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees F/ 180 deg. C.
Bake for 25 to 30 more minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool for a bit on a wire rack then cut into wedges and serve warm.
