Ingredients
all purpose flour/ maida 2 cups
moong dal 1 cup
gram flour/ besan 1 cup
oil 1/2 cup + for frying
garam masala pdr 4 tsp
crushed pomegranate seeds 2 tsp
amchur powder 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Method
Heat 1/2 oil in a pan.
Add the moong dal and stir.
Lower the flame and add gram flour, garam masala, amchur powder and the crushed pomegranate seeds.
Stir it for a few minutes and remove from flame and keep.
Take the flour in a deep dished bowl
Add 3-4 tbsp oil and salt
Knead till a smooth dough is formed, adding water as required.
Divide into equal sized balls.
Roll each into circles
Add a little of the dal mixture to each circle
Close the fillings with the dough (shaped like tiny bags) and then flatten it a bit.
repeat with the rest of the dough in the same way
In a pan heat oil and add the kachoris one by one
Once they puff up and begin to turn brown remove from the flame
these can be stored for a couple of weeks, if stored properly.
