ghee 1 tbsp
Preparations
Roast Millet in a pan on medium heat , grind and keep aside
Chop Onion, Garlic Cloves, chilies.
Heat Oil in pan on medium heat add
mustard seed wait till they pop up then add urad and chana dal. Once light brown add curry leaves, chopped
onion,garlic and green chilies and pinch of salt cook till onions
soften and become translucent.
Add Green Peas and stir for 2-3 minutes.
Add Roasted millet flour and stir for 2-3 minutes.
Add Salt to taste.
Add 2-3 cups of water and cook on Low heat for 3-4 minutes ( Add more water if required)
Cook till the water is absorbed, millets are soft and well cooked.
Add lime juice, mix well. Last mix with a tbsp of ghee.
Garnish with Chopped Coriander Leaves, Grated Coconut, cashews.
Delicious Guilt Free, Gluten Free Upma is Ready.
It can be served with coconut or green/ tomato chutney.
ps- keep boiled water ready to add in case the water is less, don't add cold water to cook in between.
