Moongdal peas kulipaniyaram

 Ingredients

moong dal washed and soaked 1 cup

green peas 1/2 cup

ginger 1" cut into  pieces

green chilies roughly chopped to taste

salt to taste

hing little 

oil to cook

Tempering 

oil 1 tsp

mustard seeds 1/2 tsp

sesame seeds 1 tbsp

curry leaves 1 sprig finely chopped

onion 1 finely chopped

grated carrot 1/4 cup 

 

Preparations

grind moong dal to a medium thick paste

grind peas, ginger green chilies, add to moong dal paste

in a small kadai add oil, add mustard seeds, once it crackles, add sesame seeds and curry leaves

pour it over the dal mixture, along with hing and salt to taste and the vegetables, mix well

heat a paniyaram pan with little oil in each hole , pour a tbsp of mixture in each hole, cover and let it cook on medium flame for 4-5 minutes, then flip it over, let it cook for another 3-4 minutes covered.

drain and serve hot with chutney 

 

Note- Those who don't have the paniyaram pot, you can make it in a kadai and fry like how you'll fry bondas/ pakoras,
