Orange Peel Pachadi

Ingredients

peel of 4-5 fresh oranges chopped fine
tamarind 1 small lemon sized ball, soak in water to get thin extract
chilli pdr.  2 tsp or finely chopped green chillies  2 tsp or to taste
mustard seeds  1 tsp
urad dal  1 tsp
chana dal  1 tsp
sesame seeds roasted and powdered  2 tbsp
oil  2 tsp
turmeric pdr.  1/2 tsp
salt to taste
gur/ jaggery  to taste
finely chopped curry leaves  1 tsp

Methodn

add oil in a kadai/ pan, add mustard seeds, once it crackles, add the dals, and curry leaves, fry till the dals turn golden
add chopped peel, fry till tender, stirring continuously
strain the tamarind extract and to the orange peel along with salt, turmeric pdr, green chillies
cook till it is quite thick, add jaggery,  sesame powder, mix well
this goes well as an accompaniment with rice and kootu ( dal and vege mixed) or with idli, dosai. adai
