Ingredients
rice flour 500 gm
sesame seeds 50 gm/ 3 1/2 tbsp
chana dal 5 tbsp
cumin 3 tbsp
chilli pdr. 2 tbsp/ green chillies finely chopped 2 tbsp
salt to taste
oregano 1 tbsp
crushed peanuts 2-3 tbsp
asafoetida 1/4 tsp
turmeric pdr. 1/2 tsp
curry leaves few chopped
oil as needed for cooking
Method
mix all the ingredients except oil and make a hard dough by adding hot water
divide this dough into 7-8 equal parts
spread oil on a plastic sheet, while you heat tava
spread the dough with your fingers on the sheet round like a roti
then make some holes around it
put it on the tava, put some oil all around and inside each hole, cook in medium flame covered for 3-4 minutes, then turn over, put some oil all around and into the holes, cover and cook till brown and crisp on both sides
serve hot with chutney/ milagai podi/ curd and pickle.
ps- in case you find it difficult to spread the dough on the plastic sheet, then make the dough like for adai, a thick batter and then you can easily spread on the tava to cook.
