Potato Stuffed Urad dal Vada

INGREDIENTS

urad dal soaked and ground with minimum water
oil for deep frying'

for stuffing
finely chopped onion
finely chopped green chillies
finely chopped coriander leaves
potatoes, boiled, peeled, mashed
salt to taste

METHOD

just before making, add salt to dal mixture
mix all the ingredients well for stuffing, except potato first
then add potatoes, mix well
in a leaf, apply oil, spread the dal mixture slightly thick, put enough mixture in the centre
fold the leaf into half, so that the filling gets covered well, or slightly press in the end of the covering mixture
deep fry in hot oil till golden brown on both sides, drain
serve hot, this vada doesn't need chutney or ketchup, as the spices inside is good enough
