DAHI VADA


INGREDIENTS

urad dal  1/2 cup
ginger finely chopped  1 tsp
coriander leaves finely chopped  2 tbsp
green chillies finely chopped  2-3
nuts for decorations
thick curds   2 cups
roasted and ground cumin  1 tsp
chilli pdr.  1/2 tsp
chaat masala 1/4 tsp
salt to taste
oil for frying

METHOD

soak dal for few hours in just enough water
grind to a fine paste, without adding much water by adding chillies, ginger
mix coriander leaves, salt, chilli pdr., mix to a smooth paste
shape into small vadas and deep fry in hot oil till golden and crisp on both sides
drain well, soak in water, squeeze out the excess water from the vadas, place them in a big, deep dish, add curds, little salt, mix well
sprinkle chaat masala pdr. cumin pdr., little chilli pdr. and nuts, serve
