Ingredients
For the Cake:
1 cup all-purpose flour (or plain flour)
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
For the Fudge Sauce:
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
3 tbsp cocoa pdr (unsweetened preferred)
1-1/4 cups boiling water
How To Make Hot Fudge Chocolate Pudding Cake:
Preheat and Prep: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Lightly grease a 9-inch square baking pan. Have boiling water ready.
Cake Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar, flour,
cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, melted butter,
and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and mostly lump-free.
Assemble: Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Fudge Sauce: In a separate bowl, mix together the remaining 1/2 cup
white sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa powder. Evenly sprinkle this sugar
mixture over the cake batter. Gently pour the boiling water over the
top, ensuring not to stir or mix it into the batter.
Bake: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 35 minutes, or until the center is almost set.
Cool and Serve: Allow the cake to cool for about 15 minutes before
serving. Serve in dessert dishes, topped with ice cream or whipped cream
if desired, and spoon the warm fudge sauce from the bottom of the pan
over each serving.
