Cooking can be fun and rewarding, and it can be especially so when you know all the little tricks to make a dish the very best it can be. These tricks can be related to anything from how food is packed and stored, to the actual cooking itself. It most certainly can be helpful to know at least a few. That's why I'm sharing this video, containing no less than 9 different tips and tricks, so you can take your culinary skills to a whole new level:

1) Keep a cake fresh longer- by storing it with a slice of bread overnight.

2 ) Making cookies, have no eggs- solution- use half a banana instead of each egg required.

3) Stop your potatoes from budding, by storing them together with an apple !

4) How to perfectly hard boil an egg. Make a little hole using a pin, then boil for 6-7 minutes and peel easily.

5) Want to keep your salad fresh? Place a paper towel over it when packaging or storing.

6) Grill fish over slices of lemon- this prevents sticking and also adds some more flavour.

7) Microwaving leftovers? - leave an empty space in the middle of the plate, so the food will heat up more evenly.

8) To peel tomatoes easily, just roast them over a flame until the skin splits. Let them cool down and the skin can be peeled off without difficulty.

9) Squeeze citrus fruits with ease by microwaving them for 15 seconds, before starting.

Bonus hacks-

when you buy green chilies and want them to last long, remove its stalk and store.

When you buy fresh coriander leaves, remove its roots and any spoiled or withered leaves, you may roll them in paper towel or store in vegetable bag, that has little holes or a special container with holes in the bottom, around and on its lid so that the leaves remains fresh. When you use little leaves each day, also check if some have gone bad, best to throw it before it spoils all.

Cauliflower-  I found the best way to make the florets last long, is remove all the green leaves, separate the florets, after checking it is all clean, cut into small pieces by hand or with knife and store in vegetable bag, it lasts long in the fridge.
