Ingredients
3/4 cup butter
1 2/3 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 cups all-purpose flour/maida
2/3 cup cocoa
1 1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking pdr
1 tsp salt
1 1/3 cups water
FOR THE FROSTING
2 cups chocolate chips
2 cups powdered sugar
2/3 cup evaporated milk
Method
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease and flour two round baking pans or one big baking pan.
In large mixer bowl, combine butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat on high speed 3 minutes.
Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt; add alternately with water to butter mixture.
Blend just until combined.
Pour into prepared pans. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans. Cool completely before frosting.
To prepare the frosting:
Place chocolate chips in small microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave on high 1 1/2 minutes; stir. Microwave on high for an additional 30 seconds or until melted and smooth when stirred.
Gradually add powdered sugar and evaporated milk, beating until smooth.
