Sitting down with a bowl of soup during the
winter is the ultimate pleasure, and a good crouton makes the
experience that much better. This two-ingredient crouton recipe can be
made in a frying pan and will help you savor your favorite soups easily!
Ingredients
Loaf of old bread - 1 (about 7-8 cups) (cut into cubes)
Unsalted butter - 4 tbsp.
Salt - to taste
Ground black pepper - to taste
Preparations
Melt butter in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
Add the bread cubes and mix well. Season with salt and pepper.
Make sure the bread cubes are lying in a single layer.
Allow the croutons to fry until they are golden and turn them over to brown all sides.
Once all the croutons have browned, remove the frying pan from the heat and let them cool before serving.
