Aloo Chaat ( Potato chaat)

 Aloo Chaat (Potato Chaat) • Curious Cuisiniere 

 

Ingredients

Potatoes 3- medium size

Roasted Cumin pdr 1 tsp

Red chili pdr 1 tsp

Chaat masala 1 tsp

Pudina / dried mint pdr ½ tsp

Salt to taste

Tamarind chutney  2 tsp

Coriander leaves ¼ cup

Cooking oil 3-4 tbsp

coriander -mint chutney 

 

Preparations

Peel, wash the potatoes, then dice them into medium size cubes. Heat some oil on medium flame in a pan/ kadai and add potatoes to it

Shallow fry the potatoes. To ensure even frying from all sides, keep flipping/ turning the potatoes often.

Lower the flame and continue to shallow fry till the potatoes turn golden brown and crisp. Remove the potatoes, and place them in a big bowl.

Add roasted cumin pdr, red chili pdr, chaat masala, mint pdr and salt and mix well.

Now add green chutney and tamarind chutneys 2 tsp each.

Toss and mix all the ingredients well, seeing that potatoes are well coated with the spices.

Garnish with coriander leaves.

Transfer to a serving bowl and serve at once OR else the potatoes will get soggy with the chutneys.
