INGREDIENTS
pears 1/2 kg
ginger finely grated 100 gm
raisins 100 gm
sugar 1/2 kg
juice of 2 lemons
pectin 1 tbsp ( optional)
METHOD
grate pears coarsely.
combine ginger, raisins, sugar & lemon juice with pears in a large vessel.
bring this mixture to boil.
reduce heat to medium low & cook for 35-40 minutes or till it reaches a jam consistency. ( to test this, if you put it in a dry plate, it shouldn't flow)
if desired, stir pectin into 3/4 cup of jam & cook for 3 minutes.
cool & store in a sterilised bottle.
