INGREDIENTS
butter 75 gm
maida/ all purpose flour 250 gm
sugar 6 tbsp
dates 300 gm
vanilla essence 1 tsp
METHOD
cream butter & sugar together till soft & creamy.
add vanilla essence, add flour.
mix into a pastry dough.
roll out a portion of the dough & place on a greased tray.
grind the dates after soaking them for a few minutes, after draining, without adding any water.
spread the dates mixture onto the pastry layer. cover with another layer of pastry. repeat the process alternating dough & dates mixture.
you can have many layers. bake for 30 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 180 deg. C for 20-25 minutes or till crisp & cooked.
cut into desired shapes, cool & store.
