SWEET BUTTERMILK CORN BREAD


Ingredients

2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups buttermilk
1/4 cup melted butter, slightly cooled
1 cup yellow cornmeal

Method

Preheat oven to 400 deg F

Lightly grease a  baking dish.

Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and set aside.

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then beat in the sugar.

Mix in the buttermilk until blended, then add the melted butter.

Add the flour mixture to the wet mixture; mix well.

Add the cornmeal and blend thoroughly.

Bake in a pre-heated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve warm
