Ingredients
250 grams Maida (All purpose flour)
1/2 cup Curd - about 100 to 125 grams
1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt (adjust to taste)
1/2 cup Oil
For Sugar syrup : 2 cups Sugar and 2 1/2 cup water
Oil for frying
Method
Take maida (flour) in a mixing bowl . Add curd, baking soda, and salt. Knead into a slightly tight dough. Use a little bit of water if needed for kneading into dough.
Make a long rope-like string from the dough by rolling it with hands on board or on clean flat platform. Cut into pieces using knife as shown in picture.
Heat oil in a frying pan. Fry the dough pieces on low flame till they turn light brown.
Place them on tissue to get rid of excess oil
In a pan heat sugar and 2 1/2 cups of water together while stirring Cook till you get thick syrup of 2 strings
Add fried tosha and mix them in the sugar syrup so that they are covered properly with syrup and switch off stove.
After sugar syrup cools off, and starts to solidify separate the toshas from each other (otherwise they will stick together as sugar solidifies) and get rid of excess sugar.
Store toshas in air tight container at room temperature when they completely cool off.
