PINEAPPLE HALWA


INGREDIENTS

1 cup Bombay Rava(sooji)


1 cup of ghee


1+1/4 cups of sugar


A pinch of citric acid(powdered)


Half a cup of pineapple juice(filtered)


One fourth tsp of food colour(yellow)


A few drops of pineapple essence


Broken cashew nuts 1/2 cup

pineapple pieces few



METHOD

Mix all the ingredients( except the essence , ghee, 

food colour & juice) thoroughly, so that no lumps 

are there. Mix enough water to make a thin batter. 

Let stand for 4-5 hours. Pour in ghee& juice. Blend 

nicely. Cook over slow heat, stirring continuously. 

When it attains a thick consistency, mix in the 

essence, nuts, pineapple pieces & food colour. Set 

over a greased plate.



ps- I'ld advice not to use food colour unless you are 

really interested in giving colour to your food, as all 

food colours are carcinogenic ( i.e., they cause 

cancer)
