Coconut Barfi

 Ingredients

fresh grated coconut  1 cup

condensed milk  1/2 cup

sugar 1/4 cup

cardamom pdr 1/4 tsp

ghee for cooking and greasing a plate / pan

chopped nuts for garnishing

 

Method

 Grease a heavy pan, grease with ghee, add coconut, condensed milk, sugar and cardamom pdr, mix well.

Cook the mixture on medium  heat, stirring continuously.

Add ghee if needed as it gets thick. 

Keep cooking till the mixture thickens and comes off the sides of the pan.

Spread on the prepared plate/ pan, spread evenly, sprinkle chopped nuts, press it down lightly.

Let the barfi set at room temperature. Once set, cut into desired shape.

Store in a clean, dry container.
