Nectarine Clafoutis

  

 Ingredients

3 ripe nectarines, pitted and sliced

3 large eggs

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup whole milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

 

Preparations

 Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round baking dish with butter.

Slice the nectarines into wedges and arrange them evenly in the prepared dish.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, flour, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Pour the batter over the arranged nectarines, ensuring they are well covered.

Bake for 35-40 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.

 

Clafoutis has the texture of an oven-baked pancaked. It is sweet, but not terribly so, and the chunks of fresh fruit are enjoyable to the palate.

It is a French dish of fruit, unpitted black cherries or otherr fruits, arranged in a buttered dish, covered with a thick but pourable batter, then baked to create a crustless tart.
