Sabudana / Sago barfi

 Ingredients

Sabudana 1 cup

Milk 1 cup

Coconut (fresh or dried) 1/2 cup

Sugar 3/4 cup

Ghee 1/4 cup

cardamom powder 1/2 tsp

Nuts (cashew, almond, pistachio slices )

Saffron (optional)

Method

Fry Sabudana on a slow flame, until it blooms , cool and grind to a powder.

Warm milk in a pan and slowly add sabudana to it.

Cook on medium flame.Now add coconut and little ghee.

Next add sugar  and mix well. 

Keep cooking till it thickens. adding more ghee.

Add cardamom powder, saffron and chopped nuts.

Take it out in a greased plate or tray.

Spread it evenly with a spoon and let it cool.

Then cut it into squares or any shape you like.  Store in an airtight box.
