INGREDIENTS
apple 1 wash, peel, core and cut into small pieces
sugar 150-200 gm
water 1/2 cup
desiccated coconut 1 cup
maida 2 cups
ghee 5-7 tbsp
cinnamon pdr little
cashews chopped 2 tbsp
METHOD
Heat a pot adding chopped apple pieces, cinnamon pdr, water and sugar in it. Give it a good mix.
Once the water starts boiling, keep the flame low, cover and let it cook till the sugar syrup gets a little thick.
Remove and keep it aside.
In a kadai or thick pan add 3 tbsp of ghee, let it melt, add maida
keep stirring maida till it slightly changes colour, at this point add desiccated coconut fry for another 2-3 minutes
now add little water or milk slowly stirring or lumps will form.
Once the moisture is absorbed, add some more water or milk, stirring cook it for 2-3 minutes
add the apple-sugar mixture, stirring well, adding a tbsp of ghee and chopped nuts
as it thickens add another spoon of ghee, keep stirring till the mixture all comes together leaving the sides of the pan, add some more ghee, stir it well
Spread on a prepared greased plate or tin, level the mixture, let it set well, then cut into desire pieces.
