Besan barfi without sugar syrup

Ingredients
2 cups gram flour / besan
1/2 cup semolina
1/2 cup ghee
1/2 milk
1 cup sugar
2 tsp milk pdr
A pinch of cardamom pdr
Finely chopped almonds or pistachios
 
Method
Heat a pan, add half a cup of ghee, add 2 cups gram flour and half a cup semolina and fry for 10 minutes on medium flame.

When the gram flour turns light golden, add 1 cup sugar and milk, 2 teaspoons milk powder and mix them well and fry for 5 minutes. Make sure that no lumps are formed. 
 
Now add 2 teaspoons ghee, cardamom powder and half a cup milk. Mix them well.  
 
Mix well and cook the mixture on medium flame till it thickens.

Remove from the flame and let the mixture cool down. Pour this mixture into a barfi mould and flatten it. 
 
Sprinkle finely chopped almonds or pistachios on top. 
 
When the mixture cools down, cut it into desired shapes and serve.
