Digestive Tea

 The tea is made using just a handful of kitchen ingredients:

  • 1 small cinnamon stick (1–2 inches)
  • 1 cm fresh ginger, lightly crushed
  • ¼ teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 2–3 basil leaves
  • 1 cup water

To prepare it, add all the ingredients to water, bring it to a boil and let it simmer for five to seven minutes before straining and serving.

 

Drinking this tea after a heavy meal, helps to support digestion and help reduce bloating. She also noted that while she finds it beneficial, the drink may not be suitable for everyone. She advised that people who are pregnant, taking blood thinners, have reflux or are on diabetes medication should consult their doctor before including it in their routine.
