CLASSIC BANANA CREAM PIE

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-baked pie crust

  • 3 ripe bananas (sliced)

  • 2 cups whole milk

  • ½ cup sugar

  • ¼ cup cornstarch

  • 2 egg yolks

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • Whipped cream for topping

    How to make

    • Heat milk in a saucepan over medium heat.

    • In a separate bowl, whisk sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks.

    • Slowly add the warm milk while whisking.

    • Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook until thickened.

    • Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and butter

    • Layer banana slices in the pie crust, pour the filling and refrigerate

    • Top with whipped cream before serving
