Besan halwa

Ingredients

Besan 1 cup

Milk 1 cup

sugar ¼ cup

ghee  ¼ cup

water ¼ cup

cardamom pdr ½ tsp

nuts for garnish

Preparations

Roast besan until aromatic and set aside.

In another pan simmer milk, water, sugar and ghee

Mix besan and cardamom pdr, till it thickens

Garnish with chopped nuts and serve warm.

 

In North India, grandmothers prepare this besan halwa to take care of winter allergies, cold and sore throat. It is rich in proteins, calcium, good fat, best to eat in small quantities.
