INGREDIENTS
For dough
All purpose flr./ maida 200 gm
Icing sugar 50 gm
Melted butter 100 gm
Water 2-3 tbsp
Mix flour, melted butter and sugar to resemble breadcrumbs, by rubbing with
your hands well. Then add about 2 tbsp of water or more to make a soft dough.
Cover and keep aside
FOR STUFFING
Apple 1 chopped
Raisins/ dates. Dried figs 3 tbsp
chopped
Mixed nuts chopped 1/4 cup
Chocolate flavoured cornflakes ¼ cup
Corn boiled and lightly crushed 1
cup
Brown sugar 5-6 tbsp or more if you
want it sweet
Nutmeg pdr. ¼ tsp
Cinnamon pdr. ½ tsp
Mix all the filling ingredients well.
TO ASSEMBLE
Roll dough into a big round to fit your pie dish, press it down well from
all sides and around the edges, whatever
is excess, remove and mix with the rest of the dough.
Roll out the rest to cover the prepared pie, nicely put over it and seal
from sides, then with a knife, make some slits all around for the air to escape
Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 deg. C for 30-35 minutes, or till the top
is light brown.
Ps- instead of putting the 2nd rolled out dough on top, to make
it look better, you may cut strips, put it across both length and breadth-wise,
then you don’t have to make slits on the dough, as there will be gaps in
between those strips. Or to make it look fancier, you may cut star or any other
shape and place it on top of the fruits.
