Dhalia is broken wheat. It can be made as halwa, upma, or cooked and eaten in place of rice.
Ingredients
dhalia 1 cup
ghee 3-4 tbsp
water 2 cups
gur 1/2 cup or to taste
nuts chopped as desired
raisins as desired
chironji 1 tsp
cardamom pdr 1/2 tsp
Preparations
heat ghee in a heavy pan/ kadai, once hot, add dhalia, keep frying till nice aroma comes
then add water, keep cooking till water is absorbed
add jaggery, keep cooking till it becomes thick
add nuts, raisins, chironji and cardamom pdr, mix well
once it leaves the sides of the pan
remove, serve hot garnishing with some chopped nuts, raisins.
NOTE- if desired you can add half milk and half water to make it healthier and richer.
