Cucumber Tambali

This is a quick preparations for those who are lazy or tired to cook or want a quick simple healthy dish to have with hot rice and papad, then this is the dish for you all.

 This is made with the basic ingredients in your kitchen. Only trouble is grind and clean your mixer jar !

 

Ingredients

cucumber 1

grated coconut 1/2 cup 

green chilies 1-2 or as per taste

garlic 2-3  (optional)

black peppercorns 1/4 tsp or to taste

jeera 1/2 tsp

coriander leaves a handful

sesame seeds 1/2 tsp

water 1 1/2 cups

curd 1 cup

for tempering

oil 1 tsp

dry red chilies 2-3

jeera ½ tsp

mustard seeds ½ tsp

curry leaves finely chopped 1 tsp (by doing so, curry leaves aren't discarded and you get the Vitamin E essential for your skin and hair. Whenever I use curry leaves, I finely chop and use in tadka).

 

Add in a mixer jar cucumber with pepper, jeera, green chilies, garlic, sesame seeds, coconut, coriander and salt. Grind to a smooth paste adding little water

take curd in a big bowl, add water, add the ground paste, mix all well to make a thick buttermilk

make the tempering , pour over the ground batter, mix well, serve with hot rice.

Your quick simple tadka cucumber tambali is ready by the time the rice is cooked and papads are roasted.

You can easily roast the papads in the microwave 2-3 at a time depending on the size of the papad without getting your hand burnt by roasting the papad over the gas flame. It take 30 seconds, depending on the thickness of the papads.
