Ingredients
1 cup = 250 ml
Whole wheat flr / atta 139 gm= 1 cup
Milk pdr 30 gm = ½ cup
Curd/yogurt 144 gm= ½ cup
Milk 125ml = ½ cup
Oil 60ml = ¼ cup
Sugar ¾ cup= 143 gm
Fennel seeds/ Saunf pdr 1 tbsp
Fennel seeds 1 tbsp
Fennel seeds 1 tsp for sprinkling
Baking soda ½ tsp
Baking pdr 1 tsp
salt a pinch
PREPARATIONS
Take a bowl add curd and baking soda, mix well and rest for 5 minutes
After that add sugar, oil, and milk, mix well.
Put a sieve on the bowl, add flour, milk pdr.. baking pdr and fennel seeds pdr, sift the ing. Into the bowl.
Add fennel seeds, mix without any lumps
Pour batter in a greased cake tin/ mould and sprinkle fennel seeds over them,
Bake in a preheated oven @ 180 deg. C for 35-40 minutes.
Once cake is done, take the cake out of mould and let it cool down completely on a wire rack.
Slice and enjoy this unusual egg-less fennel seeds cake.
PS - instead o whole wheat flour, you can use all purpose flour or both in the ratio of 50:50.
For more intense flavours, you can enhance the quantity of fennel seeds or powder.
