Spicy Tamari Party Mix

 Ingredients

Sauce

1/3 cup butter or avocado oil

2-3 Tbsp. Frank’s RedHot, depending on desired heat level

2 Tbsp. tamari or soy sauce

1 tsp. garlic powder

Base

2 cups wheat squares cereal (like Chex or Shreddies)

1 cup roasted edamame or chickpeas

1 cup raw almonds

4 cups air-popped popcorn

 Spicy tamari party mix

Preparations

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Prep two rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a small pot, warm butter and mix in hot sauce, tamari, and garlic powder. Reserve two tablespoons of the hot sauce mixture and set aside.

On one baking sheet, combine wheat squares, roasted edamame, and almonds with the larger portion of the hot sauce mixture. Mix well to ensure that everything is evenly coated in sauce and place in the oven for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, on the other baking sheet, toss the remaining hot sauce with the popcorn.

Once the 15 minutes are up, stir the cereal mixture and place back in the oven. Place the popcorn in the oven at the same time. Bake both for 15 to 20 minutes, until the cereal mixture and the popcorn are relatively dry to the touch and golden brown in spots.

Let cool for 10 minutes, toss the contents of both sheets together, and enjoy.
