Ingredients
Moong dal ¾ cup
Bread slices 6-8
Onion chopped ¼ cup
Capsicum chopped ¼ cup
Coriander leaves chopped 2-3 tbsp
Green chilies chopped to taste
Ginger 1”chopped
Salt to taste
Cumin seeds ½ tsp
Red chili pdr to taste
Garam masala ¼ tsp
Turmeric pdr ½ tsp
Sesame seeds 2 tsp
- Oil/ ghee/ butter for cooking
Preparations
Wash moong dal well, then soak in clean water for 3-4 hours or soak it overnight, if you want to make it for breakfast.
Add dal along with ginger chopped, green chili and cumin seeds in a blender. Add 2-3 tbsp water and grind to a smooth and thick paste.
Add salt, spices, chopped vegetables to the dal mixture and mix well.
Brush some of those dal mixture on a bread slice. Sprinkle some sesame seeds.
Heat oil/ ghee on a pan, gently press the bread slice with dal mixture facing downwards. Gently press, let it cook on medium flame till it becomes crisp.
Brush some butter / oil on the plain side of the bread and toast it till brown.
Healthy, protein rich toast id ready, serve with chutney of your choice.
Note- If you want you spread the dal mixture on both sides too, then you need to soak and grind more dal, you may add grated carrots, in stead of capsicum, green onions, choice is yours.
