Today being Saraswati Pooja, I made this for prasad, as I don't have to stand and keep stirring, as I'm having pain in my knees & back.
Ingredients
Semolina/ suji roasted not necessary 1 cup
curd 1 cup if not sour*
milk 1 cup
sugar 3/4-1 cup as per taste
cocoa pdr 1 tsp
vanilla essence 1/2 tsp
baking pdr 1 level tsp
nuts & raisins as desired
ghee 1 tbsp for greasing the micro-safe bowl + add to the ingredients
* if curd is sour add 1/4 cup rest add milk to make it 1 cup
Preparations
In a big bowl, mix semolina, sugar, cocoa pdr well.
Then add curd & milk, mix well, rest for minimum 30 minutes covered.
After that mix well again, if is thick add some milk to get it ti near pouring consistency. If too watery, add some more suji & sugar if desired.
Add nuts, raisins, and baking pdr,mix well, add vanilla essence, mix well.
Pour it in a micro-safe greased bowl.
In my microwave, in high power, it was done in roughly 51/2 minutes .
I checked with a knife in the center, it came out clean.
I removed, slightly cooked and cut into pieces as desired.
Guests thought it tastes like cake, or sheera/ kesari.
I wanted a small twist to the normal kesari/ sheera , hence added cocoa pdr & vanilla essence, instead of the cardamom pdr.
One can double/ half the ingredients as desired.
You may bake in normal oven, then the consistency of the batter must be thicker, or those who don't have oven/ microwave, you make use the pressure cooker to bake, be keeping it in very low flame, without the whistle.
