Lemon Clove Cookies

INGREDIENTS
flour   2 cups
cloves ground 1/4 tsp.
butter softened   3/4 cup or 1 1/2 sticks
egg   1
pure lemon extract   1/2 tsp
salt  1/8 tsp
granulated sugar  1 cup

LEMON GLAZE
confectioner's sugar  1 1/2 cups
water 1 tbsp+ 1 tsp
pure lemon extract  1/4 tsp

METHOD

mix flour, cloves, salt, set aside.
beat butter & granulated sugar in a large bowl using an electric mixer at medium speed, until the mixture becomes light & fluffy.
Add egg & lemon extract, beat till well blended.
Gradually add flour mixture till well mixed.
Divide dough into 1/2.
Form each half into a log about 1 1/2" in diameter & 9" long.
Warp in wax paper, refrigerate for an hour or until firm.
Pre-heat oven to 350 deg. F. 
Cut dough into 1/4" thick slices.
Place on non-greased baking sheets
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cool on baking sheets for 1 minute.
Remove to wire racks, cool completely.
For the lemon glaze, mix confectioner's sugar, water, lemon extract in a small bowl until blended.
Drizzle over cooled cookies.
Let the cookies stand until the glaze is set.
