Ingredients
mixed dal 1 cup washed, soaked and ground coarsely like for suji, it should be thick paste like for vada
mixed veges 1 cup ( beans, carrot, peas, cauliflower, cabbage) all chopped small
potato washed, peeled and grated 1 cup
salt to taste
ginger-green chili-garlic paste 2 tsp ( those who don't like garlic, can omit it)
oil 2 tsp
turmeric pdr. 1/2 tsp
lime juice 2-3 tsp
sugar 2tsp
fresh corainder leaves chopped 2 tbsp
soaked chana dal / corn 2 tbsp
for seasoning
oil 2-3 tsp
mustard seeds 1 tsp
hing 1/4 tsp
sesame seeds/ til 2 tsp
Method
in a pan, heat oil, add the veges, potatoes, seasonings, cook well till soft, add lime juice, sugar, mix well, remove add coriander leaves, soaked dal/ corn to the ground dal paste, mix well
grease a baking dish, spread the paste, level it
in a small kadai, heat oil, add mustard seeds, once it crackles, add hing, remove, add til-spread the seasoning on the paste, bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 deg. C for 20-25 minutes, or till the top is golden brown, you can also bake in individual small bowls, so it is easier to serve, garnish with some grated coconut and serve hot.
