Puttu rice halwa
Milkmaid tin 1
puttu rice/ plain rice 1 cup
sugar 2 tbsp
coconut grated 2 cups

Ghee ½ cup or 150gm
melon seeds to garnish or any nuts can be used.

Method
1) Soak rice for 3 hours, grind to a fine paste. Add sugar & mix well.
2) Make 3 cups of coconut milk & add to rice mixture & mix well.
3) Pre=heat a heavy bottomed pan before pouring in the mixture. Place this on fire & stir continuously for 15 minutes.
4) Add milkmaid & ghee, keep stirring till you begin to see traces of ghee in the sides of the pan & the mixture becomes a ball in the centre.
5) Remove from fire, spread on a greased plate, sprinkle with nuts/ melon seeds & set aside to cool. Cut into desired shapes & serve.
