Ingredients
2 cups - mixed beans- red small beans, white lobia, kidney beans/ rajma- wash and soak overnight
1 raw banana
1 big onion finely chopped
1/2 tsp garam masala pdr
1/4 tsp turmeric pdr
3/4 tsp - red chilli pdr or to taste
3 - bread slices
salt to taste
oil as needed
2 tbsp - coriander leaves finely chopped
Method
Pressure-cook the mixed beans with salt and water till soft and keep aside.
Peel the skin and cut the raw banana into large pieces. Pressure-cook up to 3 whistles.
Drain the excess of water from the cooked beans.
Mash the cooked beans and cooked raw banana nicely with your fingers/ vegetable smasher into a coarse paste.
Heat a few drops of oil and saute the chopped onions with garam masala pdr, turmeric pdr, salt and red chilli pdr.
Add the onion-spice mixture to the beans-banana paste.
Soak the bread slices in water, then squeeze out the excess of water.
Add the squeezed bread slices and coriander leaves to the beans-raw banana paste. Mix well adding chopped coriander leaves and check for salt.
Prepare small balls from the paste and flatten them with your palms into any desired shape.
Heat oil and fry the cutlets golden brown. Or you can shallow fry the cutlets too.
Serve with chutney or ketchup.
