Ingredients
besan 1 cup
coconut grated 1 cup
nuts 1-2 tbsp
milk 250-300 ml
ghee 3-4 tbsp
gur pdr. 1 cup + little more Or you may add sugar
Method
grind coconut and nuts with milk to a fine paste
in a non-stick pan, heat 1 tbsp ghee, add besan, keep stirring, and fry on low flame till nice aroma comes.
now add the ground coconut paste, you may add some milk in your mixer jar to get more of coconut+ nuts sticking aaround
keep stirring well on low flame at this stage, you may add more milk, keep stirring well.
once it gets thick, I added gur pdr, kept stirring adding a tbsp of ghee, as it got thick, I added another 1 tsp of ghee, kept stirring, till it left the sides of the pan and came together.
grease a plate, pour and spread evenly, level it, allow it to set, may be roughly 30 minutes.
then cut into pieces in desired shape.
Well, hubby and my friends to whom I gave this liked it very much.
Notes- I prefer adding gur/ jaggery instead of white sugar, as it is healthier. If you prefer sugar or sugar substitute, you may add that and proceed in the same way.
