INGREDIENTS
bottle gourd 1 kg
milk 1 litre
sugar 2-3 tbsp
cardamom pdr. 1/2 tsp
ghee 2 tsp
nuts
METHOD
peel and grate the gourd
heat a pan, add a tsp of ghee, fry the gourd/ lauki till the water evaporates, on low heat, stirring from time to time
add milk to cover it, once milk gets thick, add more milk, cook till all the milk has been absorbed, stirring every 2-3 minutes
add sugar, cook till all the sugar has melted, you've to keep stirring at this time , once it gets thick, add ghee, cardamom pdr., nuts.
ps- only sad thing, when you grate gourd, please remove the seeds if they're not tender. Mine was very tender, so I didn't remove.
When you grate you feel the quantity is a lot, then it comes to 1/4 later, that is the sad part !
