Ingredients
oil 2 tbsp
mustard seeds 1 tsp
green chillies chopped to taste
hing little
urad dal 2 tsp
chana dal 2 tsp
red chillies 1
til 1 tbsp ( optional)
idlis chopped 1 cup
onion 1 big chopped
curry leaves few
coriander leaves chopped 1 tbsp
salt to taste
peanuts 2 tbsp
Method
in a kadai, heat oil, add mustard seeds, once they crackle, add the dals, peanuts, fry till golden
then add chillies, curry leaves, hing, fry for a minute, add til fry for a minute
add onion, fry till onion is light brown, add salt, idlis, mix well on low flame for 2-3 minutes
add coriander leaves, serve hot
this can be eaten plain without any chutney/ sambar
Especially leftover idlis are made into upmas, as it also tastes good with the spices, dal, onion ! I love it, better than idli.
Another option, if you're lazy to cut onion, then just heat oil, fry the idlis, add milagai podi( gun powder) mix well, serve hot, that also tastes good.
