To clean cauliflower, soak florets
in water adding 1 tbsp of vinegar and ½ tsp of salt for 15 minutes, wash well
drain and it is ready to use.
To retain green colour of peas- soak
peas in luke warm water adding ½ tsp sugar, mix well, cover and leave for 10
minutes, remove cover and wash, ready to use.
To make crispy pakoras- add rice
flour almost in equal quantity of besan, if you don’t have rice flour, add 2
tbsp hot oil to besan and make. To enhance the flavor of pakoras, after you drain
them, sprinkle some chaat masala on top.
To make tasty cabbage sabzi, add
little garam masala, turmeric pdr. Chili pdr, , when almost cooked add some
peanuts roasted and coarsely crushed and fry for few more minutes. As most
people don’t like the taste and smell of cabbage, this makes it tasty.
Left over bread, crumble and put in
a mixer jar, blend for 3 minutes, you’ll get bread crumbs, now take a pan,
roast the crumbs stirring continuously for 6-7 minutes on low flame, till it turns
light brown and dry, cool and store it in an air-tight jar, it will last for a
month.
There are other options with leftover bread- you can make bread upma, if it is more, less in quantity then use for bread pudding or bread payasam or can make bread pudding or bread vadai, all these recipes I've posted in my blog earlier, enjoy trying them as due to lockdown the family will be asked for different snack, it is the time to try, they're all very simple.
