Tomato chutney

INGREDIENTS AND METHOD

Tomatoes 1 kg cut into half, place halves cut part facing up on a pan, sprinkle 2 tbsp oil all over.

Tip- when you cut tomato don’t cut halves full, then it will be easier to turn both halves together.

Keep turning and cool on both sides evenly add

Garlic 15 cloves peeled, let it roast well, remove cool completely, then grind to a smooth puree

Heat oil ½ cup add

Mustard seeds ½ tsp

Urad dal 1 tsp

Chana dal 1 tsp

Methi seeds ¼ tsp

Curry leaves 1 sprig chopped

2-3 dry red chilies broken

Hing little

Once the dals are golden, add

Red chili pdr 4 tbsp or to taste

Turmeric pdr 1 tsp

fry on low flame till nice aroma comes, then add the tomato puree

mix well, let it boil covered for 20 minutes on low flame

add salt 2 tsp

jaggery pdr 1 tsp

cook till oil separates and it changes colour to dark red, remove and store
