Almond Halwa

 Ingredients

Almonds  1 cup

Milk  1 cup

Ghee  ½ cup or little less

Sugar  ¾ cup

Saffron strands  6-8

Cardamom pdr  ¼ tsp

 Nuts for garnish

 

Method

Soak almonds overnight or at least 5-8 hours. Then peel the skin, then grind to a fine paste or slightly like rava.

Boil milk adding saffron slightly, so that milk gets the saffron smell.

In a heavy kadai/ pan, heat ghee, add almond paste, keep stirring till the colour changes little and a nice aroma comes.

Add milk and sugar and keep stirring till the mixture becomes thick and the ghee comes out.

Now add cardamom pdr, garnish with nuts and serve hot/ cold.
