Gulkand Shakarpara baked

As people are getting more and more health conscious and counting the calories they're eating, now chefs are finding easy way out for us by teaching us some baked stuffs too.

INGREDIENTS

maida / all purpose flour 1 cup

suji/ rava  3 tbsp

ghee 2 tbsp

white sesame seeds 1 tbsp

gulkand  2 tbsp

pdr sugar  1/4 cup

water if needed to make a soft dough

METHOD

in a big plate or bowl, add the 1st 3 ingredients, mix well, such that the dough resembles breadcrumbs and it should be able to hold together. That means it has enough ghee and that you've mixed well. This is a very important step whenever one needs a dough, even for making namkeens/ salty snacks.

Next add sesame seeds, gulkand and pdr sugar, mix well, as there is moisture in gulkand, after mixing all well, then sprinkle water little by little as needed to knead a soft dough.

Keep the dough covered for 10 minutes.

Preheat the oven @ 180 deg C.

Now between sheets of parchment paper, flatten the dough little by hand and then cover with the other half of the sheet and roll the dough to about 1/2 cm thick. Pole holes all over with a fork, so it doesn't rise and becomes crisp. Now cut into desired shape, usually cut into diagonal shape with the pizza cutter/ knife.

Spread it leaving space on the greased baking tray so that they can bake evenly.

Bake at 180 deg. C for 12-15 minutes till golden. But you may have to keep an eye on the oven, as the time can vary depending on the size ,voltage of your oven.

Remove, cool and serve/ store.
