I wanted to eat papaya yesterday. As usual cut it in the morning, shared it with my maid. But, completely forgot about the papaya, I wasn't hungry, just had tea, got busy with some other problem. Late at night, when I went to boil milk with turmeric and garlic to reduce my wheezing and cough, I saw the vessel, opened it to see the papaya. As, I wasn't hungry, kept it in the fridge. I don't like to eat cold papaya, hence the sheera was made, not by intent, out of necessity, not to waste the papaya.
INGREDIENTS
papaya cut 1 big cup
rawa/ suji 1 cup
ghee 3 tbsp
nuts as desired 2 tbsp
sugar 1/2 cup or as per taste
milk pdr 1 cup ( almost the same amount as suji)
METHOD
heat ghee, roast the chopped nuts, I added suji to it, as I wanted both to get roasted together.
Once nice aroma came from suji, I added the chopped papaya, I was feeling lazy to take out the mixer jar and blend, so decided to just add it, then as they're soft, just kept mashing them well.
once the papaya and suji mixture became thick, I added the milk pdr in parts, so I'ld stir it well before lumps are formed.
I continued stirring the milk pdr mixture well, then added the sugar, kept stirring on n off till the sugar was well absorbed.
Once it became thick, I removed from flame and transferred to a bowl to cool down.
I was amazed that it really tastes awesome, though I'ld not say it myself.
