Diplomat halwa
Channa dal 1 cup
Moong dal 1 cup
Sugar 2 ½ cups
Ghee ¾ cup
Milk 1 cup
Mawa/ khoya 200 gm
Cardamom 6 powdered
Cashew nuts & raisins fried
Saffron color ½ tsp
Method
1) wash
dals & pressure cook together for 10-15 minutes .
2) cool
& mash well to a fine paste.
3) In
a heavy pan, or better still in a non-s-tick pan, cook the dal paste & milk
together for a few minutes.
4) Then
add sugar & stir well, adding ghee little at a time.
5) Once
the mixture thickens, add mawa stirring
all the time.
6) Add
saffron color, cardamom pdr, nuts & raisins.
7) When
the mixture begins to leave the sides of the pan, stir well & remove.
8) Pour
on a greased plate, cool & cut into desired shapes.
