Whole Wheat Chocolate Cake

 Ingredients

  • 3/4 Cup Whole Wheat Flour (Atta)
  • 1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Oil
  • 1/2 Cup + 2 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1 1/2 Tsp White Vinegar
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Essence
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven at 180 C / 350 F. Grease a 6 inch cake tin.

  2. In a small bowl, add milk and vinegar. Mix. Keep aside for 5 minutes.

  3. In a separate bowl, add oil and sugar. Mix for 1-2 minutes.

  4. Now add the milk mixture. Mix nicely.

  5. Add vanilla essence and mix.

  6. Keep a sieve on top of the bowl. Add atta (Whole wheat flour), cocoa powder and baking powder. 

  7. Using a spatula or a hand whisk, mix nicely. Don't over mix the batter.

  8. If the batter is too thick, add around 2-3 tablespoons of milk.

  9. Add the cake batter into the cake tin.

  10. Bake at 180 C/ 350 F for 30-35 minutes or till a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake tin comes out clean.
